Gentrification is defined as the process of a poor urban area changing as a result of wealthier people moving in. This leads to numerous issues including loss of property, reduced diversity, forced displacement, and cultural erosion. This project aimed to preserve the extensive history that has shaped these different businesses that we explore and to provide a tangible archive of those who care about West Los Angeles. The project will culminate in a series of Instagram posts highlighting quotes from interviews as well as a photo zine.
